In general, it is recommended one Firehawk Rooftop Sprinkler® for every 800 to 900 square feet of fuel free space/cleared zone/defensible space.
For example, if your home is 1,800 square feet, you will need two Rooftop Sprinklers. And if you have other buildings such as garage and workshop, you may need one sprinkler for each structure.
What IS A FUEL FREE SPACE/ CLEARED ZONE/ DEFENSIBLE SPACE ?
A fuel free space is a natural and/ or landscape area around a structure that has been maintained, and designed to reduce fire danger. This SPACE is the defence a Homeowner creates between a building on the property and the grass, trees, shrubs, or any wildland area that surround it. A good fuel free space will decrease the risk of spreading the fire from vegetation to structures. In addition, it also gives firefighters access and a safer area to defend your home.
